A 1st day training workshop on the National Antimicrobial Use (AMU) Surveillance System of Bangladesh was successfully conducted today with the participation of 25 pharmaceutical companies. The session aimed to strengthen the capacity of pharmaceutical stakeholders in effectively using the OHASS platform for AMU data submission and management.
The workshop began with an orientation session and an overview of the OHASS landing page, followed by discussions on the company registration process, review and approval procedures by DGDA, product entry, and AMU data entry.
In the second part of the session, participants engaged in hands-on exercises that involved practical demonstrations of product entry and sample data entry within the system. This allowed company representatives to gain direct experience in operating key system functionalities.
The event concluded with an open discussion and feedback session, where participants shared their valuable suggestions and queries. Some notable points raised during the discussion included:
1.The possibility of introducing email notifications or reminders after product entry.
2. Adding a product category form with selectable options such as “Antibiotics” and other relevant product types.
The facilitators appreciated the active participation and constructive feedback from all attendees. The insights and recommendations gathered from this workshop will be instrumental in enhancing the usability and effectiveness of the National AMU Surveillance System.
This collaborative initiative reflects a continued commitment to promoting data-driven decision-making, digital transformation, and responsible antimicrobial use across Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical sector.
