The Day-3 and final session of the National AMU Surveillance System (OHASS) Training Workshop was successfully conducted, marking the completion of a three-day capacity-building program aimed at strengthening Bangladesh’s national antimicrobial usage (AMU) surveillance framework. The session was attended by officials from the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA), representatives from pharmaceutical companies, and the technical team from JBRSOFT Limited, who worked together to enhance digital monitoring and promote responsible antimicrobial use across the country.
The training focused on the advanced functionalities of the OHASS platform, highlighting modules for data validation, report generation, and performance monitoring. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and scenario-based exercises, gaining practical experience in managing, verifying, and analyzing AMU data efficiently.
Discussion Highlights
Key discussions during the final session included:
1.The process of verifying and approving AMU data before submission.
2. Requests for improved dashboards showing company-wise and product-wise summaries.
3. The addition of new report filters, such as antibiotic class and dosage form.
4. Automatic alerts for incomplete or inconsistent data submissions.
These valuable insights will support continuous improvements and user-centric development of the OHASS platform.
Closing Remarks
In the closing ceremony, senior officials from the DGDA expressed their appreciation to all participants for their active engagement and emphasized the importance of accurate and timely data in combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR). They acknowledged the contribution of JBRSOFT Limited for their outstanding technical support and innovation in implementing the system.
The three-day training concluded successfully with a shared commitment among DGDA, WHO, and JBRSOFT Limited to sustain a data-driven, transparent, and effective AMU surveillance system in Bangladesh.
We extend our sincere gratitude to S. M. Sabrina Yesmin for her visionary guidance and continuous support throughout the OHASS implementation journey.
